Stripology Ruler

So I took the plunge and bought one of the Stripology Rulers I had seen on various blogs. It's no small investment (around $80) but boy, it makes cutting strips faster!

For those who haven't seen them, here's some photos...

So, basically you can line it up on a piece of fabric and do multiple cuts at a time..which is great!

I decided to give it a trial run and I cut the sashing and borders for the cat blocks I started earlier.

And now I have a finished quilt top. It's pretty bright, but since it's for my 8 year old niece, hopefully she will think it's ok!

Now to piece some backing and off it goes to the quilter.

Hope you're having a good week.

Easter etc..

Well, hope you had a lovely Easter, and got to have a bit of a breather...even if it was only for a couple of days.

We did the obligatory family trip to The Gold Coast and the theme parks over Easter. Thankfully we had beautiful weather and enjoyed all there was to see and do, except some of the ultra scary roller coasters.

Then the kids and I went to my parents farm to catch up with family. Bit greener than out our way!

Here are the kids enjoying the big pile of round hay bales at Pop's farm.

My Dad also had a new litter of Pup's from his kelpie,Shan, for the kids to play with.

Whilst at Mum's I took a quick snap of the Road to St Louis quilt I made her a couple of years ago. Fabric was from Cottage on the Hill.
Sorry for the dodgy photo but didn't dare mess up Mum's bed after she'd just made it. 😄

Anyway must run. The kids have been entertaining friends on the last couple of days of school holidays, so I am on food supply duty. How many hamburgers can four (rapidly growing) boys eat???

Have a great week.
